New Words!

Hannah's doing so well. Just in the last two weeks she's started saying about 8 new words. In case your interested, some of the new ones are Milk, cookie, again, choo choo, uh oh, and tickle tickle, complete with tickling herself. She's doing really well, though I have no reason to believe that EI has anything to do with it. So far in the three months since referral, they've seen her actively one time. So I'll just say thank you very much that she's progressing in spite of them!

Thanksgiving Part II

Hannah had a good Thanksgiving, minus the fact that she only napped in the car between our house and Grandma's and between Grandma and Grampy's. She ate most of the day, just like everyone else, and sat down to dinner with us this year, instead of sleeping like last year. She was very good and seemed to have lots of fun. I can't wait for Christmas this year, since she's going to LOVE it this time!

"Buddy"

So an entire two months later, we have another new word. Hannah now says "buddy" when she means Gary. She wanders the house calling "buddy.... buddy" when he's at school. She also combined two words earlier this week and said "bye dada" so that's pretty big too. Hannah qualified for EI and they're coming for their first actual appointment today at 10:30. I hope that she cooperates, but I don't see why she wouldn't. She was very good for her evaluation.

Fall

Still no new words, but Hannah's EI evaluation is scheduled for next week. Should be informative to say the least.Hannah had a great time this weekend playing with Michael and picking pumpkins. My little baby is growing up so fast.

E.I.

So far we haven't heard from EI, and I'm getting frustrated. Everything I have heard says kids have a language explosion at 18 months and can learn up to 12 new words a day. Clearly that isn't happening =(

Mooooo

I swore I typed something more recently than that. Huh... oh well. Life is about the same. Hannah is still sleeping in her big girl bed, and likes it very much. She has a new word "Moo" which sounds more like "broooo" but very cute just the same. I'm hoping she'll get more words soon, but she babbles a ton and doesn't seem to care that no one knows what she wants.

New Bed

AMAZING... I can really say nothing else, as I am speechless entirely about last night.

Yesterday we got Hannah a second crib mattress to set up her toddler bed with. We put it in her room, put sheets and a pillow on it, and she bounced on and off it all day. At naptime she walked to her crib, and that was where she slept. At bedtime we read books in her new playroom, since that's where they are, and then headed over to her bedroom and we shut the door to begin our prayers, singing, bunny, night night routine. She walked in and hopped up on her bed and laid down... so we put her bunnies and her binkies in bed with her, said prayers and sang while she laid down and we rubbed her back, and then kissed her goodnight and said we'd see her in the morning, same as always. SHE STAYED IN HER BED ALL NIGHT!!!!!!! She cried for less than 3 minutes around 11:30, and then slept until 6! I realize that this is not a habit, or set in stone, but I'm so shocked!

Happy 4th

Hannah had a good 4th. We had a bbq, and then later we decided that since she was awake anyways, that we'd go over to the fireworks. She was amazingly good, and had a great time. She sat on my lap during the fireworks and didn't cry at all. She clapped when they were all done. She fell asleep in the car on the way home, and only woke up a little when I put her in bed!

Change

Hannah's rash is mostly gone, though it does show up more when she's outside in the heat. Not that we have much of that. She's finally sleeping through the night again, after who knows how long. However she needs a bunch of binkies in bed with her for it to happen. I guess I don't care as long as she sleeps. She's growing and changing so much, I feel like sometimes I don't even recognize her. The pictures we had taken for her birthday barely look like her anymore.

The Rash

Hannah's having a reaction to one of her shots, and has a red rash all over her. She's not unhappy otherwise, but just has a bad rash. If it's not getting better by tomorrow morning I'll be calling about getting her into see the Dr.

No Binky?

All of Hannah's 5 teeth that she was working on in the previous post have at least partially broken through, giving her a grand total of 12! Aside from the occasional tantrum resulting from coming inside from playing she's been in a fantastic mood lately! She's also being encouraged to give up her binky during the daytime, except for naps and other sleeping. She's doing really well with that. We caved a bit on the weekend because she wasn't home with us, but otherwise she normally goes all day without it! I'm very pleased with that, because I hate seeing 4 or 5 year old with a binky still in trying to talk. Ugh!

Poor Muffin

Hannah's just about better from her cold. Still a little runny nose, but otherwise seems to be great. She is having a bad go of it, because apparently she's trying to get all FOUR molars in at once, as well as one other tooth. My poor muffin!

Pennsylvania is fun

Well we're back from PA and we had a great time. Hannah napped basically about 45 minutes on the way down, but it really couldn't have gone smoother. She was happy all day and only had small issues with sleeping in the PnP in our hotel room. She had a snooze before we met up at the mall and was Sooooo good at the cheesecake factory. All the babies were good. 5 toddlers all at the same table, and only one intentional spoon throwing incident. She came with us (obviously) to Jenn and Todd's after the mall and played happily with Kieran all evening, and then slept 90% of the ride home. She's got a bad cold now and is just miserable, but we're hoping it clears up soon so we can go visiting this weekend.

King of Prussia

So we're leaving tomorrow for our first trip that will take more than 1 hour to get there. Should be interesting to say the least. We're hoping Hannah does well and has no issues sleeping in the hotel room. Wish us luck, I'll update when we're back and settled.

MMMMM Pizza

So Hannah has a new skill. She eats with a fork. Of course she won't actually stab the food herself, but she pops it right in her mouth and then hands it back for a refill. It's way cute and so smart. She did it Saturday night at Pizza hut for dinner.

It's yellow and long...

And a new word this morning. I was getting her breakfast ready and I showed her the banana I was going to cut up for her and she said "nana" Yay! She gets smarter every day.

Bunny Goes...

Hannah is getting so smart. We were reading to her last night, and when she saw the picture of the bunny, she bounced. It was so cute. She understands that bunnies hop! My smart little girl!

Crabby girl

We're still very crabby due to the molars! And just loving our new furniture. She wishes we'd let her bounce on it, but, it's pretty firm, so I"m afraid she'll fall off. She's started doing a couple of the finger movements for "itsy bitsy spider" Which is completely adorable. There are some relatively new pictures in her albums, when you want to check them out.Party time is almost here, and I'm freaking out... too much to do I guess.

Molar

So we have another tooth. Hannah's first Molar popped through.

More teeth for Hannah

Quiet weekend mostly at home here. It was supposed to snow a lot today, but we barely got a dusting. We've been going out most afternoons, and she seems to have been exceptionall tired lately, so back to two naps we go. Oh darn, more time to get some work done. She's back to perpetually teething. Poor thing, I think she's getting her canines... Ouch!Birthday is fast approaching... I can't believe tomorrow it will be two weeks away, where did my tiny little baby go?

Art is Life

Still no bottles. She's doing even better than I expected with the milk. She's also down to one nap a day, though there are plenty of days that I'd still prefer two! She's just growing so fast, I miss my tiny little baby. Now she's a big girl... and can't stop doing anything very long. She even got her first crayons yesterday! She so far thinks they make a better snack than art project, but we'll teach her yet!

Weaned

Hannah is completely off bottles and formula now. She is drinking milk from her sippy and doesn't even miss the bottles. I'm so excited about this, because a lot of kids are very attached to them. She never batted an eyelash about losing her bottles in the morning and evening. Birthday in less than a month... and I'm sad, but I guess that's to be expected. I'm really trying to get invitations out... honest

Mystery Teeth

So yesterday we found two more teeth. Steven swore he saw one, but he says that a lot, so I didn't believe him. I dared to stick my finger in there, and sure enough there it was. Then I figured why not check the other side also... and there was another one. She now has 4 teeth on the bottom and 2 on top... I feel like these were freebies, since I had NO idea she was teething

Table food is the thing

Hannah gets more and more into walking every day. It seems like I almost never see her crawl anymore. My baby isn't a baby anymore. Hannah is almost completely on table food, and whole milk. She loves most foods, though when we went to dinner last night, the only thing she ate was greenbeans and cantaloupe.

Here Kitty kitty kitty

Well Hannah's said her first word, and like I thought, it was "kitty" she is attached to those cats like you wouldn't believe. She's walking everywhere and is very happy to not be teething at the moment. I'll be mailing invitations for her party shortly... how sad, my baby is almost 1.
